@MichelleRod (E) is directly supported by the following sentences in the stimulus:

"As a direct result of the inquiry that followed, the engineering 'rules of thumb' by which thousands of bridges had been built went down with the Quebec Bridge. Twentieth-century bridge engineers would thereafter depend on far more rigorous applications of mathematical analysis."

I was debating between answer choice A & E. Was A incorrect because the part saying the bridges build before 1907 "were unsafe for the public to use"too strong and thus not 100% supported by the passage.

Please explain why A is incorrect as I too was left with A & E.

I was also stuck between A and E, but chose A over E. Both seem correct to me as well, would it be possible to get an explanation please?
