The term 'ALL'

I've seen a pattern. The term ALL in all questions is up for questioning. In the LSAT, is it that anytime we see "all" it automatically means a=b so not b= not a? So for this question, even though logically other dogs bark often since "all" is included we have to assume that if it doesn't bark often then it's not a lab? I guess what I'm asking is, do we have to consider outside influences? Such as the fact that other dogs bark too? Or am I incorrect? When the term ALL is used should we ONLY consider the facts and premise in that question and never outside logic? Such as the fact that other dogs bark?

@claudio so two things. First, do not question the LSAT. If the stimulus says, "all pigs can fly," then all pigs can fly.

Second, this example says that "All Labrador retrievers bark a great deal."

It does NOT say that only Labrador retrievers bark a great deal, so it actually leaves open the possibility that other dogs also bark a great deal.

Watch our video lesson on Sufficient & Necessary Conditions to review these concepts in more detail.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
