The conclusion of this argument is "it is premature to conclude that telepathy is an alternative means of communication." The support given for this conclusion is that even though there are those who believe that there must be "something in" telepathy, evidence for the existence of telepathy has persistently evaded numerous researchers, and it can often be shown that other explanations, which do comply with known laws, can be given. So the author points to the lack of evidence proving the existence of telepathy to support his conclusion.

(A) is the CORRECT answer because it describes exactly what the author does in his reasoning. He points to the inadequacy of evidence for the existence of telepathy. He is not offering an alternate explanation. His argument is made by pointing to the dearth of evidence around the existence of telepathy, as well as the existence of alternate explanations. Thus, he bases his conclusion on the lack of evidence proving the existence of telepathy.

(B) is incorrect because the author does not describe experiments.

(C) is incorrect because the author has not overgeneralized, and there was no specific piece of evidence given in his reasoning.

(D) is incorrect because the author draws a conclusion that is supported by the premises.

(E) is incorrect because the author has not made a circular argument. He has offered support for this conclusion.
