The letter to the editor's conclusion is taking issue with the claim made in the article on effective cockroach control, which stated that vexone is only effective against one of the more than 4,000 cockroach species that infests North America. The letter writer goes on to say that, in fact, vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against ALL of the species that infest North America. The letter writer provides support for her claim by mentioning that in testing their product, Roach Ender, which contains vexone, they have "conducted many well-documented studies that prove this fact."

Remember that the Cannot Be True question is the exact opposite of a Must Be True Question. Which means that the correct answer choice must directly contradict the information set forth in the passage. Now, since this is a Bizarro Cannot Be True question, our correct answer is the only one that does not directly contradict the passage.

(A) is incorrect because it directly contradicts the claim made in the passage that "vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against ALL of the species that infest North America."

(B) is incorrect because it directly contradicts the claim made in the passage that "vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against ALL of the species that infest North America," and that in testing Roach Ender, they have "conducted well-documented studies to prove this fact."

(C) is CORRECT because it does not directly contradict the passage. It is stated in the passage by the letter writer that "vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against all of the species that infest North America." This answer choice merely restates this quoted statement from the passage. Thus, it does not directly contradict the passage.

(D) is incorrect because it directly contradicts the claim made in the passage that "vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against ALL of the species that infest North America." Thus, it clearly contradicts the passage to say that "the cockroach infestations that have been combated with vexone have not included all of the cockroach species that infest North America."

(E) is incorrect because it directly contradicts the passage. We know that there are MORE THAN 4,000 cockroach species that infest North America and that "vexone has been utilized effectively for almost a decade against ALL of the species that infest North America." We also know that in testing Roach Ender, there have been "many well-documented studies that prove this fact." Thus, stating that Roach Ender, which contains vexone, was tested against EXACTLY 4,000 cockroach species that infest North America directly contradicts the passage, which again stated "MORE THAN 4,0000 cockroach species."

Hope that was helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.
