If Kim plays tennis we know nothing else. Notice that in our 6th condition, Kim playing tennis is the necessary condition but the existence of the necessary condition tells us absolutely nothing else (remember DON'T JUST REVERSE!).As such, it is possible for Kim to be the lowest ranking tennis player as demonstrated by the following hypothetical:
Golf: Lina, Maricella, Paulo, Shigeru
Tennis: Kim, Oliver
Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

But rule#6 states that Oliver is ranked below Kim so Kim can't be the lowest ranked player?

Rule number 6 states that IF PAULO PLAYS TENNIS then Kim plays tennis with Oliver ranking lower than Kim. But, that doesn't mean that Oliver will always rank lower than Kim. If Paulo does not play tennis, Kim could still play tennis and be the lowest ranking tennis player.Hope that clears things up! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Is it not illogical to assume that the players ABILITY all of a sudden fluctuates depending on whether or not the 4th and 5th conditions are invoked? It just seems like a logic inference to conclude that Kim will consistently possess better tennis ability than Oliver weather or not Paulo is playing tennis.natasha July 29, 2020
yeah that is wack! very tricky if player ability changes just because someone isn't playing. WOW this one really messed me up thought I was making progress feel like I just took huge fall backwards :(SMA March 7, 2022
Agreed. Very tricky! I got this one wrong for the same reason mentioned here.
