Between (a) and (b)....

After a long consideration, I picked up the answer (a) over (b). However, I'm not sure I will be able to pick up the right answer when I face this kind of question next time. So I need your help. Why is answer (b) "less" right than (A)? Isn't it possible to think that Eleen uses a different 'definition' of each term (house, a passenger airline) to attack James' argument? Many thanks, always.

We are confronted with an argument. James' conclusion is "the government has ignored the airlines' right to set smoking policies on their own property." Why? Because James states that in his house, he does what he wants.

Eileen then attacks James' argument by showing how his analogy does not apply. She explains why the rules in James' house can not be applied to a passenger airline, because James' house is different from a passenger airline in that James' house is for his own use, whereas a passenger airline offers a service to the public. She makes a distinction between James' house and the passenger airline.

This is why answer choice (A) is correct. She explains the difference between the purpose and use of one's own house as opposed to the purpose and use of a passenger airline. Eileen does not, however, offer any definitions. That is why answer choice (B) is incorrect.

Hope that was helpful! Let us know if you have any other questions!
