Need your help

Does Jones illustrate any evidence in his statement? Doesn't he just make his argument based upon his logical reasoning? I failed to pick (b) as an answer because it says .. In light of Jones' evidence. Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "based upon his logical reasoning." Remember that Logical Reasoning questions will either be a set of facts or an argument.

Here, we clearly have an argument. We know that an argument is made up of a premise and a conclusion. A premise is the same thing as evidence; it is what the speaker uses to prove their conclusion.

Jones's conclusion is that scientists attributing prehistoric wooden tools found in South America dating to 13,000 years ago are not correct. The evidence he gives is: "In order to have reached a site so far south, these peoples must have been migrating southward well before 13,000 years ago."

Hope that was helpful! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
