We are told that balance is particularly important when reporting the background of civil wars and conflicts, i.e. facts should not be purposefully manipulated to show one party in a better light than another. However, the stimulus stresses that this does not mean that one, therefore, can conceal basic injustices in order be even-handed. If this were to happen, then the public would be given a picture of the world where each party in every conflict has equal measure of justice on its side, which is contrary to our experience of life and common sense.

So the point of the argument is that to have completely balanced reporting one should not only stray from presenting one party in a more favorable light, but also stray from concealing basic injustices in order to be even handed, i.e ALL the facts must be impartially presented.

Answer choice (B) illustrates this exact point: "Balanced reporting requires impartially revealing injustices where they occur no less than fairly presenting the views of each party in a conflict."

Answer choice (A) states: "Balanced reporting presents the public with a picture of the world in which all sides to a conflict have equal justification."

Answer choice (A) describes exactly what the argument warns against. The reason why the stimulus stresses that one should not conceal basic injustices in an effort to be even-handed is that this method presents the world in a way where every party in every conflict has an equal measure of justice on its side, i.e. "a picture of the world in which all sides to a conflict have equal justification," which is not the case. So answer choice (A) is not the main point, rather it is what the argument stresses should be avoided.

Hope that clears things up! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I chose answer C, after reading your response I see why B is correct. Is answer choice C a premise then?

Answer choice (C) is not necessarily a premise. We are never told directly that indeed some cases are clearly wrong. "Clearly wrong" is very definitive and never mentioned in the passage.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Can someone explain why c is wrong?, even after I read the above explanation I still don't get why C is incorrect.

Never mind I got it
