You can access a more complete explanation of the stimulus and why answer choice (C) is correct in the other comment on this question by "MGN2014."

As for (D), we have never been given any of this information in the passage, and so we cannot make this conclusion. It specifically mentions "one-fifth of the amino acids in a fragment of eggshell" when this is never discussed in the stimulus. How do we know this? What information supports this? We are not given any.

Remember, the limit of our knowledge on the LSAT is in the boundaries of the words in the stimulus. None of the information in the passage leads us to answer choice (D).

Hope that clears things up! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Just to make sure, answer choice (A) is incorrect because although cooler regions might have older archeologist sites that use the amino acid decomposition of egg shells method than southern Asia. However, we don't know if southern Asia or cooler climates have older archeologist sites because maybe there are other dating methods that don't use egg shells?

@Samantha-Alexis,

Happy to help.

(A) says, "The oldest archaeological sites are not in southern Africa,
but rather in cooler regions of the world."

We know that the fragments of eggshell in southern Africa cannot be
dated as far back as the fragments in cooler climates. However, just
because the dating of these fragments past a certain point isn't
possible does not mean that southern Africa cannot have the oldest
sites. It's possible southern Africa's sites are the oldest, but they
just can't be dated well due to technological limitations.

Does that make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!
