Yes, this is the same problem that tripped me up. Why hasn't anyone answered? I noticed answers are not provided where they are explained in the video, but this is not. The drill clearly says that Either/Or statements are written out by assigning one variable the necessary and the other one the sufficient and negating the sufficient. She did not write it out that way at all.Now, I have to add that what she wrote out makes complete sense and it's what I would have written out prior to this training, but now I dutifully wrote it out as taught, but it did not apply here. Can you explain how we can know when to apply the Either/Or Rule and when not to? Thank you for taking the time to answer our question.

We have several conditional statements we can diagram with this stimulus:1) problems not solved-->not attract more applicants
2) not attract more applicants-->lower standards or nurse shortage
3) lower standards or nurse shortage-->not maintain quality
We can combine statements 1, 2, and 3 into a transitive chain
Problems not solved-->not attract more applicants-->lower standards or nurse shortage-->not maintain quality
If the problems of high stress and low wages aren't solved, we see that the quality of care will not be maintained.
E works great because it can be diagrammed as
Problems not solved-->not maintain quality.
This is the exact same thing we got from out diagramming after combining the three statements, so it's the correct answer choice.
