Main Point Question#2

Hello, What I'm having trouble with is understanding why research efforts are now justified is the main point of the question and not that it is within reach of human technology to make the climate of Mars inhabitable. What specifically stands out in the passage that shows that research efforts are justified when sentences 1 and 2 reflect a main point of it is within reach of human technology to inhabit Mars?

Hi @tmorrison10, thanks for your post.

Sometimes it helps to ask yourself - what is the author of this passage trying to convince me of? Why did the author of this passage sit down to write it?

Here, the passage overall is structured to lead to one conclusion: that research efforts *now* are justified. Why? Because if it is within the reach of human technology - if there is even a chance - we should give it a go.

Hope this helps!
