@EmilyMarieMenendez In the passage, we find out that finding, training, and promoting new jazz artists with traditional sounds has been less profitable for record labels than simply promoting reprints of old artists. This is similar to the tomato situation, where creating and promoting a new type of tomato similar to regular tomatoes is less profitable than simply promoting the original types of tomatoes. Does that make sense?
