I ruled out A because it introduced a new variable in the answer choice (buying a new hose) whereas in the stimulus, Terry answers by using the variables already mentioned. Isn't the introduction of a new variable in an answer choice suppose to signal a red flag when answering LR questions?

Since it is a parallel reasoning question, we should focus on the structure of the argument rather than specific variables. Also, Terry does introduce a new variable "consumer demand" in the stimulus, providing a solution to the issue similarly to Terry suggesting to buy a garden hose to water the garden.
