Answer E

I have some questions. Why the E is incorrect? What the artistically preference refers to? Does it refer to the realism other than abstract Impressionism or realism is not the only thing people like?

Hi Kath, thanks for the question.

I believe that the issue with answer choice E is that it says: "...to defend the artistic preferences of people". This would be incorrect because the author is not defending anybody's artistic preferences, simply stating that they are a certain way.

"Artistic preferences" would refer to anything to people look for in art. In this case, the things that people look for in art are realism, however, realism is not the only feature that they like. It is not necessary that artistic preferences mean only realism, or the fact that something other than realism is appreciated. Anything that people enjoy in art is an artistic preference.

Hope this helped. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
