Why E and not A?

Hi I choose E because it seemed the closest but I really had a hard time eliminating A. Could you explain why A isn't the answer. Thank you

@farnoushalimian,

The difference between (A) and (E) is that (E) is an absolute statement - "no deer" because "never seen a deer," which is the same reasoning as in the stimulus - "no multiple personality disorder" because "never encountered one, whereas (A) is a qualified statement. (A) says cold is "seldom" fatal, meaning some colds could be fatal and some are not because "never encountered a fatal case." To parallel the stimulus, (A) would say "cold is never fatal/ no cold is fatal".

Let me know if this makes sense and if you have any other questions.
