Must be True, not Can Be true

Hi, I am a little confused about the wording for this question. Here is how I interpret it: The answer C: Nikki does Mountain Biking in Spring and Otto does Mountain Biking in Fall. In my head, this breaks down to: R - M V - H M - K/R K - V But if Nikki does Mountain Biking in Spring, she must do Running in Fall. And if she runs in fall, Otto therefore has to do Mountain Biking. I'm a little confused as to how this is a could be true. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

@reicherjon,

(C) appears to me as Nikki's spring sport is mountaineering, and Otto's fall sport is mountaineering.

N. V M. K R
O. H K/R V. M
W. S. SR. F

Your interpretation is correct, the reason this question is could be true is because it refers to the all possible combinations for the schedule as a whole, not only the relationship between these two time slots. If the question said, which of the following could be true if Nikki does mountaineering in the spring, then it should have been a must be true question. It is a could be true instead because we could come up with a valid scenario where Nikki does another sport in the spring and Otto does a different sport in the fall, it is not true that in every possible scenario, Nikki must always do mountaineering in the spring.
