Let's take a look.

(B) says, "Scientific predictions based on computer models often fail
when tested in the field."

We're looking to resolve the paradox in the stimulus. (B) does a great
job of resolving it by stating that predictions based on computer
models (as we had) oftentimes do not come true when we actually test
them in the real world. Thus, (B) is the correct answer choice.
