question type
Hi,
what sort of question type would question 6 be? Is the question asking what the scientist is assuming to be true? This is different from strengthened with necessary premise, correct?

Thanks for the question! This question can be thought of as a necessary assumption, since it’s asking for some assumption that’s necessary for the argument to hold. So it’s asking for a background assumption on which the scientist’s argument rests, something that is essential to the argument, where if it were false, the argument would completely fall apart.
