If the plaque is first, then exactly how many artifacts are there any one of which could be second?

Why not 3 possibilities for spot 2?

Why couldn't G also be in second?

If P is first, we have five remaining possibilities. Since F is before J and H, neither j not h can be second, so we have three remaining possibilities. Finally since N is older than T, t can't be second, leaving only two.
