Whats wrong with B

I limited the choices down to B and E. I was a bit confused by the wording in the choices. I ended up picking B because the acto's were able to create a sense of closeness and understanding (my understanding of intimacy here) by the way they acted. Can you please explain more?

Hi @avif,

Thanks for the question! Well, let’s go to line 39, and then read a few lines before and after it to get an idea of the context of the actos and why the author is using the word “immediacy.” It certainly could be the case that the way the actors performed brought the audience closer, but we’re definitely not told anything about addressing many of their lines directly to the audience as a tactic, and so we can’t conclude that from this paragraph. Because it adds in this extra detail that’s not supported in this passage, (B) has to be wrong.

(E), on the other hand, is the correct answer because it points to what you were talking about, the acting itself. It tells us that the actor conveyed the performers’ experiences to their audiences very vividly, and this is what is referred to by the immediacy.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
