A versus C

Can someone give an explanation of why C is wrong and A is correct? I see potential evidence throughout the passage that makes C incorrect, such as the claim about the crabs in the second paragraph, but I’m having a harder time spotting evidence that makes answer choice A correct. Thanks in advance.

I would look to the last paragraph. We are told that Cholera are most likely to be cultured when the environmental conditions are best for their survival, and that during warm seasons in the Bay of Bengal, there were more cholera.
