Thanks for the question! So we have a medical clinic assigning doctors to shifts for 7 days, Sunday to Saturday, one doctor per day. Our players are GHKLNP, which means there’s one more day than doctor. Not let’s look at the rules:
Whoever is on Sunday is also on Saturday X X __ __ __ __ __ __ __ S M T W T F S
I don’t know if this will render properly, but hopefully you get the idea. Just start putting these things on your diagram.
Rule 2: G is on one day. This also means that based on rule 1, G is not on Sunday or Saturday, which we can put in the diagram.
Rule 3: G is either before or after K; in other words, we have either KG or GK
Rule 4: H cannot be put before or after N; in other words, we have ~NH and ~HN
Rule 5: P must be on Tuesday; this one is pretty straightforward.
Note that there are no rules concerning L, so keep that in your head. Clearly, the placement of the KG/GK block will be pretty important, as is the fact that we have to keep N and H away from each other. This is honestly a pretty good place to leave the setup and go into the questions.
