Please explain why C is wrong

To me, it seems that George would use the money to benefit none and harm “some” whereas the mother would harm nobody and benefit “some”, which seems to align with what C says. Curious why this is the wrong answer. Thanks!

The passage tells us that giving George the money would benefit none, but it never says that it would harm some. Since we cannot make the assumption that it would cause harm, (C) is inapplicable.
