Explanation for why A is wrong

When going over the test I understand why C works. I am wondering why A wouldn't make the conclusion valid though? Can someone explain. Thanks

Hi @avif,

Answer choice (A) is incorrect because it does not justify the essayist's conclusion.

A general principle that everyone should have the freedom to make lifestyle choices which accord with their personal beliefs does not serve to support the essayist's conclusion that everyone should have the freedom to choose the people with whom they associate.

Hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
