The author tells us her view in the second paragraph. While she thinks the oath should be updated in part, this is a fairly conservative processes to her. The core should be retained, and minor updates or reinterpretations should be sufficient. This is a perfect match for B, the author disagrees with the recent critics, and thinks a minority altered version of the oath should be ideal. A, however, calls for a fundamental change to the oath, which the author dismissed.
