Thanks for the question! So here, we’re asked basically about how the passage uses a certain fact. And that fact is that we’re accustomed to dealing with our mental constructs rather than the primary sense perceptions on which those constructs are based. Now remember where in the passage we talk about that. That’s around lines 28-31, and those words are basically used verbatim. So now we should read above and below that part to understand the full context of that fact and to see what ability it facilitates. And indeed, right before, we’re told that “this explanation appeals strongly to many people because it is quite successful at explaining what a mirror does” between lines 26-28. And then the fact that the author points out helps explain why the explanation is appealing. And what is “this explanation”? Well, it’s the front-to-back explanation discussed in the paragraph above. And so the answer to this one is going to be (B). This part of the passage talks about how the front-to-back explanation of mirrors facilitates our ability to understand the front-to-back explanation of what mirrors do.
