The schedule of the paintings shown in the four weeks is completely determined if which one of the following is true?

Ans CHOICE A and D

Hi, So I chose G because of the G and R pair, and it would still determine the same, so why would that be wrong. thanks in advance!

Hi @ankita96,

Thanks for the question! So remember, this question is asking us for an answer choice that’ll completely determine the schedule of the paintings shown. In other words, once we pick the answer choice, there can only be one possibility that comes from it. So let’s say that G is shown twice. As you’ve noted, we can only have G with R. But does that mean there’s only one possibility? Well, let’s see what happens if we put G and R in weeks 1 and 3, and G and R in weeks 2 and 4. Then we can make the following possibilities

G I G H
R P R S

I G H G
P R S R

And so there’s at least two possibilities here, and so (A) can’t be the right answer.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Im still confused about how S can go twice, which would have to make H go twice. From what I can see H can only go once

I think we could have

H G I H
S R P S
