Hi, I referred the first few lines of the second paragraph and thought D made more sense. Could you explain where the reference for E comes. Thanks in advance

Answer (D) is actually correct! Answer (D) is supported at lines 30-34.

Answer (E) is incorrect and is not supported by the passage. As you can see at Line 30-34, the theory does not draw a distinction between temperatures at the middle and high latitudes, but rather between temperatures at the middle + high latitudes and the temperatures at the warm tropical latitudes.
