Hi @ankita96,Thanks for the question! We’re being asked here for a statement that Godineau would agree with pertaining to Marie Gouze’s Declaration of the Rights of Women. Well, where are we told what Godineau thinks about this piece? Take a look at lines 16-19: we’re told that “typical of their orientation to theoretical issues—in Godineau’s view, without practical effect—is Marie Gouze’s Declaration of the Rights of Women.” So Godineau thinks that there’s no practical effect, and that’s what (C) says: that the work had little impact on the world of political action.
Now take a look at (E), which tells us that this work is typical of the kind of writing French women produced between 1793 and 1795. Well, first of all, the political writings being discussed at the ones that are “up to mid-1792,” and the writings in the answer choices are between 1793 and 1795. So these time periods don’t match up. Also, (E) is just too broad in general. The kind of writing that all French women produced, forget about the time frame? No, we’re just told about political writings here, and it’s typical of the women who wrote political tracts, but what about other authors? It’s certainly not typical of women who might’ve written literature or other genres. And so for those two reasons, (E) is incorrect.
Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
