Hi, to establish a claim by showing that denying that claim entails a contradiction would mean to show that if a claim were not true, then it wouldn't make sense.
For example I could try to prove the sky is blue by showing that the claim "the sky is not blue" is contrary to our senses (assuming it's sunny out).
