Why is N during the Winter V

After rule number 7, a deduction was made that O during the Winter is H, making N during the winter V. This was because it was either V/H. I am assuming this was due to the first rule being that each child plays a different sport during the seasons? However, I think this rule is unclear. Does it mean the children play different sports? Or the sports for each child are different (within the children)

Make sure to read the rules carefully, and go back if you're unclear. The plain text of rule six is that they don't play the same sport during the same season.
