Why is B wrong?

I understand why A is correct, can someone please explain why B is wrong?

@djaysinghe,(B) is incorrect because we're not concerned with what the primary goal is. The argument is about the effectiveness of criticism, so whether or not someone might be criticizing for a different reason is not relevant.
