Strengthen question?

Hello TestMax, According to the explanation for this question, this question stem indicates a 'Strengthen' question. Can someone please explain how this is strengthen question when the question stem reads: "The situation described above most closely conforms to which one of the following generalizations?" Wouldn't this be a principle question? Please advise.

I believed this to be a principle question as well and was able to get to the correct answer. I am confused as to how this is a strengthen question. Any explanation will be appreciated.
