Distributions/ Ratios

Hi, I often have a a hard time determining when I need to make deductions of ratios like in this case. This game was extremely hard in particular because I did not make this deduction. Is there key indicators that I can look for in games that can indicate I should look for all the possible ratios?

Id the distribution is uncertain, you should think about how many possible distributions there are. Here, since the number is uncertain, but fairly constrained, that's a critical element to consider.
