Distinction

In continuing my journey to mastering logical reasoning, I want to make sure I'm not missing any small details. In the answer choices where it says, "presupposes just because something can happen it will happen" is wrong because technically it is happening due to the fact electronic media is already replacing books? The correct answer is when the author assumes that just because books enable schools to stand for their traditional image, does not mean their necessary for schools to still keep the traditional image?

Hi @Anthony-Resendes,

Thanks for the question! So the problem with (C) is that the author just doesn’t do it. There’s no presupposing that just because something can happen, it will happen. Because the author has other reasons (even if they’re flawed) to support the conclusion, so the author isn’t just saying that “well, it might happen, so it will.” There are independent reasons.

The correct answer is because the consultant thinks that books are necessary, when really they just helped develop the institution.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
