Why isn't the answer choice, "presumes without giving justification that short-term memory is disabled whenever the hippocampus is disabled?

Hi @Anthony-Resendes,

Thanks for the question! So take a look at the first sentence of the stimulus, which tells us that all defects in short-term memory are caused by a malfunction of a part of the brain called the hippocampus. So does the author even say that short-term memory is disabled whenever the hippocampus is disabled? No, answer choice (C) is different from what the argument is saying, and so since the argument doesn’t even make that statement in the first place, it can’t be a problem with the argument.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
