Missing Premisses Drill

Can someone explain to me how to do the missing premises drill? Am I missing something? Why are there two P:? How do you solve these?

Hi @avramiusmc@gmail.com,

Thanks for the question! So the general idea with these questions if that you’re given say a premise, and a conclusion, and you need to find a third premise that helps you get to the conclusion.

So say you have the following argument:

P: A
P: A—>B
C: B

You can see how the premises lead to the conclusion, right? So now we take one of them out:

P: A
P: ?
C: B

And you have to figure out, “what premise do I have to add to the premises I have, in order to get to the conclusion?” And here, of course, the answer is A—>B. That’s the general logic behind these questions.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
