Rephrase Question

My trouble was understanding the question and what exactly is was asking for. Is there another way one could reword the question? I didn't know if it was asking for salaries that are similar or different or what exactly.

Hi @jbenav246@gmail.com,

Thanks for the question! This wording is definitely a bit weird and confusing at first, and so whenever you have weird and confusing wording, make sure to slow down, take a breath, and try to break it down bit by bit until you’re sure of what it’s saying. There will only be one correct way of interpreting the question. Here, we’re asked for “the minimum number of different salaries earned by the nine partners of the firm.” In other words, say the partners earn different salaries: how many of them can have the same salary? If we maximize that number, then we also minimize the number of salaries that are different. And that’s really all this question is asking for.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

"how many of them can have the same salary?" now it makes sense- N & H. Thank you!
