Passage B differs from passage A in that passage B is more

Why is C wrong?

The author seems to ask a lot of questions that need resolution before coming to a decisive conclusion. Doesn't that suggest that the author is tentative?

Hi @lklop,

Thanks for the question! You are correct in identifying that a lot more questions are asked. But these questions aren’t expressing doubt. Instead, they’re rhetorical questions being used to forward the author’s argument. For example, take line 50-52, where the author asks, “how likely is it that two people could have four points of resemblance, or five, or eight?” That’s implying that it’s extremely unlikely, the author is asking that to make a rhetorical point, not to express doubt. So passage B is actually not more tentative, making (C) wrong.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
