Why not B?

I don't understand how B is incorrect. The first sentence combined with the second sentence proves B exactly. Almost all the books in this time span were made with acidic paper, and all acidic paper destructs itself. Therefore, almost all the books made in that time span will deteriorate themselves. Please let me know if there is something I'm missing here! Thanks!

Hi @caydencemarley,

Thanks for the question! (B) is actually pretty close, but still wrong. First of all, it’s not necessarily true that all of the books from 150 years ago won’t have historical significance. And remember that the techniques are going to be applied to all the books with historical significance. So if there are books from 150 years ago, and they have historical significance, then they’ll be deacidified and thus not subject to (B). We can’t say “almost all” MUST be true based on the stimulus. It could be true, and even seems likely, but what if all of those books are historically significant? It’s a possibility that’s not ruled out.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
