Please clarify the last sentence!!!!

Hello the second half of the last sentence states.. "so every year it will be necessary for all high-risk individuals to receive a vaccine for a different strain of the virus" Can someone please clarify this and let me know if this sentence means that every year high-risk individuals should IN ADDITION to the vaccine to get an ADDITIONAL vaccine for a different strain OTHER THAN the "prevalent" strain.... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Thanks for the question! So this actually relates to how the flu works in real life. Basically, there’s a flu virus, but it mutates every year. So there’s essentially a different strain of the virus every year. That’s why you’re supposed to get a flu shot every year, to help inoculate yourself against whatever the flu strain of that year is. So when it says “every year it will be necessary for all high-risk individuals to receive a vaccine for a different strain of the virus,” it means that every year, they need to get one vaccine, but that vaccines changes every year, because it’ll be for a different strain from year to year.
