Hi @jharbour,

Thanks for the question! So “presupposes” basically just means the same as “assumes.” When someone presupposes something, they assume it. So “presupposes the truth of an opposing theory” means to assume that the other theory is true. And so the entire answer choice (C) basically says that it refutes one theory by just assuming another one is true, without any independent basis for doing so.
