Why is B wrong?

Although I chose the correct answer, I am not completely sure what the reasoning is behind eliminating B as it seems similar to C.

Hi @Samirah,

Thanks for the question! Remember to look out for strong language in the answer choice. Does the author show that a proponent of ANY alternative position would be forced into a contradiction? No. The author talks about two of them, but we can’t say those are the only two alternatives in existence; there could be more. That’s why (B) is wrong.
