Why not Option B?
Is Answer B not correct because "Beta-..." is the actual anti-cancer component, and that answer B is stating that the mushroom itself is the anti-cancer component, not the Beta-...?

B is wrong because there could be some other properties that mushrooms have that fight cancer. B is saying that this is the only way they fight cancer, but we have no reason to believe there isn't another possible causal pathway. I think this is more about the logic of B than about conflating the mushroom with the cancer fighting component.
