Confused on why my scenario doesn't work

I chose: There can be exactly 3 letters in the 2nd spoonful. Why cant we have 1) W 2) TXY 3) UZ I feel like its satisfying all of the conditions so I must be missing something. Please help!

Hi @ritagentile,

Happy to help!

You've satisfied all of the conditions except for Rule 2 which requires that U is not in a later spoonful than X. In the scenario you've outlined, U is in spoonful 3 and X is in spoonful 2.

Answer choice (A) is correct because there is at least one scenario where this could be true.

1) WZ
2) T
3) UYX

Notice that this meets all of the conditions:

1) U (3) is in a later spoonful than T (2).
2) U (3) is not in a later spoonful than X (3).
3) Y (3) is in a later spoonful than W (1).
4) U (3) is in the same spoonful as Y (3) but not Z (1).

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
