Quantifiers: Rules for making Valid deduction

When it comes to checking Rule 1 and 2, I get a little confused about rule 2. We are supposed to have a Sufficient condition in common. How do you spot this or find this answer? How do you know which variable to pick?

rewatch the video. to sum up, check to see what variable the premises have in common. if the common variable is the sufficient condition from the S&N statement, they then share the sufficient condition.

@JasonB so in problem #1 in the intro video, when the instructor says WMBC - some - PC and the S-->N statement is PC-->P - because the common variable out of the two is PC and PC is in the Sufficient condition in PC-->P, Rule #2 is satisfied as PC being the sufficient condition?
