I dont think the author has to agree with C. While I think the author would agree, I cant prove it. They are silent as to evaluating actors, we only know how audiences respond to the types of performance. This is not the same thing as evaluating an actor.
B is correct since the author must believe it. The author must think that since method acting comes off as realistic, audiences must see it as realistic.
