Question 25
on August 9, 2021
I initially thought it was C before I saw D. With C, the first part says that" it is possible to write articles and essays for which some people would pay a dollar each to read online". Babson agrees with this clearly since their entire argument is centred around it. So for C to be correct, Cortex will have to disagree. The opposite of possible will be impossible, and thus Cortez will have to believe that it is impossible. With Cortez, they state in their argument that "The fact that people don't currently pay for articles and essays individually is a bad sign for anyone who hopes to earn money this way". This only indicates that they believe it will be difficult to achieve, not that it will be impossible. In answer choice C, 'possible' does not indicate the difficulty of achieving the stated goal. Only that it could happen, however easy or difficult it might be. For Cortez to disagree with the statement in C, they would need to believe that it would be impossible to achieve. Believing that it would be difficult is not the same as believing it would be impossible. Since the correct answer choice requires that they disagree, it can't be C.
