Question 18 (Assume that Owens joined the law firm before MacNeil...)

Hi, I tried #18 on my own and got answer (B)1964. My reasoning was that there must be 3 sports before variable O and therefore 4 before M. Then watching the video, it was concluded that there must be 5 variables before M. How did we get there? Isn't that assuming that O and J have a relationship? And we don't know that right?

Waiting for a response...

Hi @cameo, I'm sorry for the late response! We know that M must always come after K and J. Since we are given the info that O also goes before M, then everything that goes before O must also go before M. That means that in addition to K, J, and M, H and N now also come before M. We know this since H and N must go before O, and since O is before M, then by the transitive property H and N must as well.
