answer choice E

E seems somewhat appealing even though the answer is C. Can you provide an example of answer E? What would marsha rejecting Elena's conclusion actually look like?

Hi @nicolebet, an outright rejection would have to directly contradict Elena's conclusion that democratic governments are best, Raytheon than offering a piece of information that might undermine the conclusion.

We could imagine something along the line of "but democracies tend to have citizens who are on average poorer than those of non democratic countries, so democracy is not the best form of government." Alternatively, we could see an argument that attaches a premise by stating "but democracies fail to foster the belief in its citizens that they have a say, so democratic government is not the best form."

We also could add a final sentence to Marsha's existing statement of "and democracies only trick their citizens who do not have a real say, so democracy is not the best form"

There are many ways to reject a conclusion, but all involve a statement that democracy is not the best form of government.
